GET “TFOH”: Philadelphia teacher hospitalized after student assault

MOUNT AIRY – February 13, 2012 (WPVI) — A Philadelphia middle school teacher is in the hospital after an assault by a student on Monday morning.

The assault happened around 10:30 a.m. at Morris E. Leeds Middle School in the Mount Airy section.

Police tell Action News it all began when the 8th grade teacher, who has been on the job for 20 years, was passing out graded assignments.

The teacher is now at Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

There was no immediate word on the identity of the teacher or of the circumstances of the assault.
