Allow me to re-introduce the man, who’s now an NBA agent – officially.

From the Marcy Projects to the head of Roc Nation Sports, Jay-Z has finally earned his license making him an official NBA agent.

Per Darren Rovell of ESPN:

Ron Berkowitz, a spokesman for Roc Nation Sports, confirmed to that, as of this week, Jay-Z is now licensed to work as an NBA agent. Juan Perez, president of Roc Nation Sports, also is now certified with the National Basketball Players Association.

Despite becoming an agent, it’s not known when the Jigga Man can actually represent NBA players yet as a source told Rovell that Hov has yet to sell his small percentage of ownership in the Brooklyn Nets, despite Jay already stating he had done so:

A source close to the situation said that, as of Wednesday, the hip-hop mogul had not sold his small share (less than 1 percent) of the Brooklyn Nets.

Industry speculation is Jay-Z might be able to sign players as long as he agrees to pass off his share of the Nets in the near future. Owners of NBA teams cannot represent players.

Jay-Z, who has sold over 50 million records worldwide and collected 17 Grammy Awards is expected to sign Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant as his first NBA related client.
