MIAMI — Heat forward Chris Bosh looked certain to miss Game 3 with the Knicks on Thursday after rushing home to Miami to attend the birth of his first son.
His wife, Adrienne Bosh, sent out a tweet early Thursday to confirm they had welcomed their first child together into the world.
“From a Dream, To a Thought, To Reality, To being in our Arms Thank you all for the Positive wishes & thoughts!” she wrote on Twitter.
Chris Bosh, who has a two-year-old daughter by a former girlfriend, had been carrying a beeper throughout the first-round series in readiness for a due date in the third week of May.

But a message posted online by Adrienne Bosh late Wednesday confirmed the baby boy was arriving ahead of schedule, and that her husband was on the way.
“Thank God for private flights…Hurry home Baby ” she wrote on instant messaging picture site Instagram, next to a photo of Bosh on a runway walking close to a small plane.
Speaking last week, Chris Bosh said he was preparing to head home as soon as the beeper sounded.
“When it goes off, I’ll be ready,” he told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel earlier. “We’ll see what happens, man, just waiting.”
The Heat head into Thursday’s game at Madison Square Garden with a 2-0 lead after back-to-back wins at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Chris Bosh’s likely absence could offset the loss of Amar’e Stoudemire, who damaged his hand smashing a glass-enclosed fire extinguisher after Monday night’s defeat, for Game 3.
