In light of recent a bottle brawl between Chris Brown and Drake, the New York City Council is planning an emergency meeting with the NYPD and club owners. The meeting will seek to establish whether bottle service policies need changing.

Quinn released a statement saying, “I am deeply concerned by reports of the bottle throwing melee that injured more than five people in SoHo this week. That is why I have immediately convened an emergency meeting next week between my office, the NYPD, and the nightlife industry.” Quinn continued in stating, “The purpose of this meeting is to send a clear message to all nightclub patrons that bottles cannot be used as weapons and to determine if the guidelines surrounding bottle service need to be updated or reworked.”
During the fight a woman was hit by a thrown bottle and had to receive 16 stiches in the head. Among several other people injured was NBA player Tony Parker who suffered an eye injury. Parker stated that his cornea was touched and although his injury will not prevent him from competing in the Olympics, he is unable to do anything for several days.
