The retro release of the Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs” marks the return of a sneaker that would have no Nike branding on it whatsoever when it was delivered – with chief Jumpman brand architect Tinker Hatfield insisting that Michael Jordan’s own logo could carry the success of the shoe without the Swoosh.

Additionally, the black/black/true red colorway was part of an official tradition/rule for the Bulls where players were only allowed to wear black shoes during the playoffs.
