GETPlugged: Philadelphia Eagles Receiver Jeremy Maclin Suffers Torn ACL At Camp

The focus at the Philadelphia Eagles’ training camp has been on first-time NFL Coach Chip Kelly and the ongoing quarterback battle, but an injury in practice Saturday has changed that.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was carted off the field after suffering an injury to his right knee.

The Eagles later confirmed that Maclin had suffered a torn ACL.

Maclin led the Eagles with 69 receptions for 857 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

DeSean Jackson, the team’s second-leading receiver, had 45 catches for 700 yards and two touchdowns.

The injury doesn’t bode well for the Eagles, who are in the tough NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Washington Redskins — all teams expected to be huddled around the top of the division come playoff time.

Plagued by injuries to quarterback Michael Vick and an anemic offense, the Eagles finished with a 4-12 record last season.
