A USA Today report said Bryant was fined $40,000 and Rondo and Pierce were each fined $20,000 for also missing the charity activity. The league would not confirm the amounts of the fines.
Asked about the fine after the Lakers 88-85 overtime loss to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, Bryant said he hadn’t been told of the fine yet and said, “I guess you’re not allowed to be sick.”
