Doug E. Fresh lit up the stage at Jazz in the Gardens. His youthful energy is contagious as he had the crowd of more than 15,000 festival-goers on their feet throughout his performance. Of course, he hit us with his world renown human beatboxing – a timeless experience (hard to believe it’s been part of his act for three decades). By far, the highlight of Doug E.’s performance was the time he took to remind the crowd that HE created the Dougie!! He treated us to four different versions of the Dougie, which caused the crowd to go wild – he surely isn’t called The World’s Greatest Entertainer for nothing…In the media tent, we were able to catch the real and practical advice Doug E. gave to those trying to break into the music industry, or maintain longevity in anything you do – his theme: “have a passion for your craft.” Words to live by no matter what your “craft” is.
