The first time we saw Kem perform, he gave an amazing performance about 8 years ago in a darkly lit night club in Cleveland before 200 or 250 people. Well, he has gotten even better! He graced the Jazz in the Gardens stage with a crowd of more than 15,000 with all that “Kemistry” he is known and loved for. He took his audience on a journey that built up with every song. He wooed his largely female audience with his distintctive vocals and well-known ballads (including one of our faves – “Love Calls”). He definitely gave the ladies what they wanted by shaking it while his band rocked out an instrumental interlude. He closed out his performance by taking the crowd to church with his personal triumphs (which included homelessness and addiction), words of wisdom and quiet strength. Overall, a top notch performance.
